RAPIDLY SHIFTING CONSUMER BEHAVIOR
LEADS BETA RESEARCH  TO LAUNCH
“C-Mar
... QUARTERLY STUDIES IN MAJOR MARKETS OF CHANGE

Syosset, NY -- August 9, 2005:  Jason Gorelkin, CEO of Beta Research Corporation today announced a new service that will provide time-sensitive intelligence on markets in flux.  When a specific “category market” (such as automotive, fashion, travel or electronics) is impacted by significant trends or events, Beta will determine whether that market will be the focus of its next “C-Mar” study.  The goal ... provide timely snapshots of consumer behavior during times of change.

In discussing the new program, Gorelkin pointed to how swiftly markets are changing: “Think about how quickly technology, style, social issues, political and other issues keep transforming our world. After all, how long has it been since low-carb diets were all the rage, since London was a low-risk itinerary for travelers, or since the entertainment industry was altered by podcasting. The incredible array of communications media is updating people minute-by-minute, and almost instantly changing the way they behave.  That means  brands can be built or burned almost overnight. And that’s the beauty of Beta’s new C-Mar studies -- marketers can almost immediately feel their customers’ pulse and begin to respond accordingly.”

Each C-Mar study will use online methodology and be based on 1,000 completed interviews from Survey Sampling’s SurveySpotTM Panel.  In addition to predetermined topics, marketers can ask proprietary questions regarding specific products, services or media, or other trend-related themes.  Additional categories that will be considered for study include -- entertainment, boating, financial services, health and the home remodeling markets, or others of importance.  Priced at $2,300 per study, C-Mar is a highly efficient way for companies to stay current with markets in transition.

Beta Research has been fielding custom and syndicated studies since 1970, and is a full service market research firm.   Its methodologies span both qualitative and quantitative approaches.  Clients include pharmaceutical companies, consumer goods manufacturers, healthcare organizations, media companies, direct marketers and ad agencies   For more information, contact Jason Gorelkin at 516-935-3800 or at jason@nybeta.com.
