BETA RESEARCH SATELLITE DISH SUBSCRIBER STUDY
– Which cable networks are most important and valuable to small dish subscribers?
– How do perceptions of cable networks differ between dish subscribers and cable subscribers?
Beta Research Corporation will conduct in April a telephone study among a national sample of households who subscribe to DirecTV or EchoStar. Interviews will be completed with 600 adults and 100 teens. The questionnaire will be similar to the Beta Research Cable Subscriber Study – Evaluation of Cable Networks. The following will be included:
1. Aided awareness of each service.
2. Five favorite cable/satellite services.
3. Whether watched specific cable/satellite services.
4. Satisfaction of Cable/Satellite Services – Respondents rate each channel viewed on the scale of “Very Satisfied,” “Fairly Satisfied,” “Not Very Satisfied,” or “Not At All Satisfied.”
5. Importance of Cable/Satellite Services – Respondents indicate whether service is important or unimportant to enjoyment of television.
6. Perceived Value of Cable/Satellite Services – Persons who ever watch estimate amount the service would be worth if it were sold by itself.
7. Overall satisfaction and likelihood to continue DBS.
8. Profile of Sample – Martial status, presence of teens or children, age, education, household income.
Certain results will be compared to Beta Cable Subscriber or Digital Cable Subscriber Study.
